Blaine and Gene Excel!

Blaine finished his presentation and performed beautifully. I will share a video later this evening. Gene did the raven dance, which was viewed with obvious delight by the audience of nearly a thousand. The production of this event is huge and flawless. Andrea Petrini and his staff are amazing organizers, especially in a city as complicated as Paris. Some of the best chefs in the world are here today, such as Albert Adria, Alex Atala, and Daniel Patterson. Albert Adria, brother and artistic force behind Fernand Adria of El Bulli, brought his restaurant and serviceware designers, and they showed us some amazing dishes. Alex Atala, from Dom in Sao Paolo, Brazil, is arguably the best chef in the world, though his restaurant occupies #7 on the Pellegrino list. Using the simple ingredient of sugar, he made taffy while his restaurant furniture designers made, with varying success, chairs from the viscous mass.

Tomorrow I will watch such stars as Fulvio Pierangelini, Anne-Sophie Pic, and David Kinch and share those performances.
